”Sometimes you just need to talk to a 4 year old and an 84 year old to understand life again.”

Kristen Butler

It’s All About Perspective

This quote makes me think about perspective.

You would think that when you are 4 life would be completely different than when you are 84, but in some ways maybe not so different.

When you’re 4, I think life can be pretty open and exciting. Full of wonder.  You have lots of questions. Lot’s of ‘Whys and What’s that?’ But sometimes what seems confusing to everyone else, makes a whole lot of sense to you. My grandkids can explain things to me, that to them seem pretty obvious, they look at me like ‘come on, Nana, I can’t believe you didn’t know that’.

I think the same can be said when you are older. You’ve lived life, had many experience, but probably still have a lot of questions, maybe still some of the same. But now you have the gift of time and perspective and can still be filled with a sense of wonder and awe at the world.

A little bit about Kristen Butler, I didn’t know anything about her until I found this quote and decided to use it on my blog to share some meaningful quotes and my reflections about them. I went to her website, https://positivekristen.com/

I am now intrigued about her and her book, The Key to Positivity. Her idea is to grow within your comfort zone, not fight with it.  To let things flow naturally.  I think I’ll add her book to my ever growing list. When I do read it, I will let you know what I think.

Remember, take some time to look around, be filled with wonder, and to be kind to yourself.
